AI Features & Data Processing

TideWise Pro includes AI-powered daily briefings. When you use this feature:

Current tide, weather, and sea condition data for your selected location is sent to our AI service provider
Your sailing profile (vessel type, draft, skill level) is included to personalize recommendations
This data is used solely to generate personalized insights and recommendations
We do not store AI-generated briefings on our servers (they are cached locally on your device)
Your data is processed in accordance with our AI provider's privacy standards and is not shared with other third parties
You can opt out of AI features at any time by not using the daily briefing feature

Weather and Tide Data Providers

UKHO (UK Hydrographic Office): Tide predictions for UK and Irish waters
NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration): Tide predictions and weather data for US waters
CHS (Canadian Hydrographic Service): Tide predictions for Canadian waters
WorldTides: Tide predictions for international waters
OpenWeather: Weather forecasts and current conditions
Stormglass.io: Sea conditions and marine weather data
UK Environment Agency: Real-time UK tide gauge measurements
Mapbox: Interactive maps and geolocation services

These services may receive your location coordinates to provide relevant data. Please review their respective privacy policies for more information.

Payment Processing

RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase information according to their privacy policy. Payment processing is handled by Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not store or have access to your payment information.

Data Storage and Security

Your preferences and saved locations are stored locally on your device. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, but please be aware that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Actual conditions may differ from predictions
Users are responsible for their own safety and should consult official sources
TideWise is not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from use of the app
Users should always exercise proper judgment and seamanship

Acceptable Use

You agree to use TideWise only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code from the app
Use automated systems to access the app in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce

Subscription Terms (TideWise Pro)

TideWise Pro is available as a subscription service with the following terms:

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's account settings
Refunds are handled according to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of TideWise after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
